Memorial Concert for Ibrahim González

To Ibrahim With Love is a Memorial Concert to Ibrahim Gonzalez.  Ibrahim was a multi-talented artist who was an accomplished video producer and photographer, in addition to being a percussionist, pianist, composer, and music producer. He was the host of two programs on New York’s WBA radio: Radio Libre! and In the Moment.  He led his own quintet and was known as the Mambo Dervish for his amazing percussion skills. Ibrahim passed away at the age of 57 in 2013 and is interred at the Woodlawn Cemetery. This concert by The Mambo Dervish Jazz Ensemble is a memorial to his life and work. The members of The Mambo Dervish Latin Jazz Ensemble are: Jay Rodriguez, sax, flute, Ray Martinez, bass, Pablo Vergara, piano, Victor Rendon, timbals, Yasuyo Kimura, congas, Freddie González, trombone, Connie Grossman, flute, and Bobby Sanabria, percussion. This is a free event.
